Hey, I am Rachit Mathur

I fix terrible things

WHAT DO I DO?

They call me "User-Experience Designer". But in a little fancy way, my passion is to talk to people and solve their problems. And because of that, they sometimes call me a "therapist". Like a therapist, I try to create a comfortable space for them to talk and understand their story without being judgemental. I then exercise with those insights to understand what they could (or couldn't) feel about themselves. Just not that. I then report this to my team as they call me a "Researcher". And then we take those insights forward for a better product/service/environment as a "Designer".

WHY DESIGN? WHAT DEFINES MY WORK?

I believe there is always quality over quantity. I like to make all of my design phases as detailed as possible. Most of the time, the presentation about work would be a story or in a storytelling way. I like to imagine how a user would take their journey through my idea.

I feel design has fewer "limitations" as compared to other fields. That allows me to stretch my mind to different sectors or mediums. And it also motivates me to connect unique things or skills altogether to produce something helpful and innovative. As a designer, I can connect human psychology with some engineering tools or natural material (for instance, bamboo ; )).

WHAT DRIVES MY AESTHETIC SENSIBILITIES?

As for the senses - visibility and touch. I like to have a "maximalist" lifestyle. I love my room "overstuffed, garish, and glorious." But I want my designs to be simple & minimalistic,  as my mantra for designing has always been "easily usable". I don't want my users to get overwhelmed every time they use a product designed by me.
